Wild Dolphins in the Suriname River
We propose you to join a 1-day tour with the Foundation Green Heritage Fund Suriname to observe the wild dolphin populations (Sotalia guianensis) in the Suriname River. This programme is the first research done in Suriname on wild dolphins. The foundation manages for the dolphin programme the funds that are obtained from donors and volunteers of the programme, so that data collection can take place on a regular basis. It is possible to join one of these trips during which data is collected at a fee. Funds that are in excess of the costs for one trip are deposited in the account of the programme, so that except for guaranteeing the continuity also simple equipment and accessories can be purchased for the programme.
CELOS, the Center for Agricultural Research in Suriname
CELOS is famous for the development of the CMS-CELOS forest management system is offering a post-conference field trip to the oldest rainforest experiment (est. 1967) in the Tropics; 14-15 June 2008 Akintosula, Mapane.
The trip includes:
- guided tour through forest regeneration projects, ruins of first Jewish settlement and synagogue, white sand savanna, Camp Akintosula in the rainforest;
- typical Surinamese meal,
- Powerpoint-presentation about CMS, overnight in Akintosula hammock camp;
- breakfast, guided tour through the CMS plots established and monitored since 1967;
- lunch and relaxation at Camp Akintosula, return to Paramaribo.

Tour in French Guiana
Depending on demand, tours and excursions might also be organized in French Guiana for arriving/departing participants travelling from/to Europe via Cayenne (Air France).
