Tropical Conservation Science's last issue : Focus on Tropical Africa

Breaking news from Monbagay.com, partner of ATBC2008. "The latest issue of Tropical Conservation Science, mongabay.com's peer-reviewed, open-access journal, is now online. This issue is noteworthy in that all eight papers have a scientist from a tropical country as lead author. A recent paper in Biotropica showed that tropical scientists are greatly underrepresented in the scientific literature pertaining to tropical ecology — most papers are written by authors based in the United States and Europe." We welcome this issue with a paper from India, another for the Amazon and 6 from Western, Central and Eastern Africa. Next step for ATBC is to go to Africa, and to have more African scientists publishing and attending our annual meetings.
